Corporate Transparency Act: Reporting Your Company’s Ownership Information to the U.S. Government
Presenter: Ed Ajaeb, President of NCISS
Tuesday, November 12, 2024
2:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT
This session will recap a presentation from April regarding the Corporate Transparency Act and how to register your company, as required by a new U.S. federal law. The December 31st deadline to file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report with the U.S. Treasury is quickly approaching. Come learn the steps you need to take to stay compliant and avoid hefty fines.
A new federal law is requiring nearly all companies in the U.S. to report information about their beneficial owners—the persons who ultimately own or control the company—to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). These new reporting requirements are aimed to strengthen the U.S. financial system by making it harder for illicit actors to use shell companies to launder their money or hide assets.
This session will provide an overview of the new law and FinCEN’s beneficial ownership information reporting requirements. Your company is likely required to report this information to the U.S. government, so come learn what information is required and how to maintain compliance with this new legislation.
